Alba 103 problems playing The Patriot (R2)

Steino (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 19th March 2001, 12:44

Unfortunately the Alba 103 I purchased from Toys R Us as an entry level DVD player does not play RCE discs as stated by someone else.

Also I have had a number of problems with other discs which I think maybe due to the faulty menu system - ie. Can only play R1 Stuart Little movie but cant look at any features.

Now where the above is fairly acceptable, I have now got a problem playing R2 Patriot where it keeps skipping back to the main menu and will not play the film at all.

Has anyone else had this problem and overcome it ?

Does anyone know if Alba have repaired the menu problem and Toys R Us are selling the new repaired ones ?

Thanks for any info

Just letting you know regarding The Patriot and ALBA 103. Saw "bedlam" notice on PLAYRESUMEPLAY. It does work if you go to PLAY MOVIE prompt on page of special features then do the magic three (PLAYRESUMEPLAY) it starts straight away and keeps on going.

Try it, its too good a film to miss.
