Actually a very interesting subject for thoughts that suffer headaches.

Some people like myself have no pain relief from solid Asprin, Pracetamol or Ibroprufen, but my wifes relatives who live in Scotland solved the problem from me years back by a white powder that is only sold in a 100 mile diameter area from the centre of Glasgow, and no it is not cocaine, he he, its called an ASKIT powder, and gets rid of pain in 2 minutes. It contain asprin, aloxiprin and Caffine citrate,

I buy packets of it when on holidays with my relatives.

Now this may sound like an advert, but you can no longer get it as its off the market for the last two months, since the large pharmacutical company BAYER took it over.  Argh !

When you read the BAYER website it states they are trying to get sub-contactors to procure some of the ingredients that make it, so either they have killed ASKIT off for good (as a previous competitor) , or they are going to bring it back but in a much bigger way, ie, throughout the UK instead of a small area in the west coast of Scotland.

In the meantime what am I using till ASKIT powders come back, you ask, well most of the major chains in the high street now make a similar product with a load of these ingredients in the one solid tablet.

For example Boots Asprin Extra with asprin caffine and paractamol, and when crunched up from the solid tablet into powder form by chewing, takes me about 15 minutes to get relief. Not as fast but better than nothing.

But nothing works faster than an ASKIT, (sounds like a catchphrase) and I expect soon one powder on Ebay will be a tenner as they have become so rare, due to getting harder to get hold off. But if they do appear nationwide from BAYER then I do recommend them for almost instant relief.

This is a little known secret straight from the heart of Scotland, which I hope returns

I find Jack Daniels gets rid of any pain (as once precribed by my dentist)... unfortunately results in a headache the following morning!

Continued use you could eat a horse and they'll still give you problems.

BTW, you do realise they are (or were) more commonly used for period pains.....?

It was actually an interesting video...I can only take ibuprofen as paracetamol actually gives me a headache, which kind of defeats the purpose!

How Ironic

But you are right, it amazes me how some headache remedies have adverse effects or just do not work at all, or do so but very yes very slowly.

Ah, but you see, if they sell womething which doesn't work especially well, then they can release the "advance" and "plus" and "super speedy" versions, all of which work marginally better than the first version, although not by much, and cost twice the price of the previous one Winking

I'm the only one in my family who can take Ibuprofen, everyone else it gives this awful pain in their chest and they've been advised not to...I like to be different Grinning
