Page 1 of French DVD Prices
General Forum
I`m off to France on Saturday and wondered what the prices for French Region 2 DVDs are like in comparison to UK prices.
Any one know?
Don`t think it matters where you go on earth, or in the universe for that matter, whatever you buy will be cheaper then in the UK!
Not necessarily true, bear. I went to France and a single Mars bar, standard size, was 55p everwhere I went. Scandalous I tell you, scandalous
But did it have extra features!

Don`t know about high street stores, but if the prices on :-
http://www.amazon.fr/
are anything to go by, you won`t find many bargains :-
Gladiator - £19
X-Men - £18
MI:2 - £17 (pre-order!)
Pulp Fiction - £17
Natural Born Killers - £14
Fight Club - £19
These are rounded to the nearest pound as rough guide.

I was thinking about the Super/Hyper markets really. But we`ll see, I doubt it will prove to be a rich vein that we could tap though!
It used to be the case that you could walk into shops in France and pick up R1 titles off the shelves, e.g. from a Virgin Megastore in Paris. However, this has all stopped since the turn of the year, as reported here on Reviewer before Christmas :-

I`ve bought a couple of discs from the Auchan hypermarket, and they`ve worked out only a couple of quid cheaper. Also, the sleeve notes are all in french, as are the cover titles.
I.E. "A bugs life" = "1001 pattes"
The prices in CiteEurope don`t appear any cheaper than most UK high street deals
Are french dvds Pal or secam
I went into Auchan, Carrefour and Leclerc and all the prices - with the current exchange rates - were about the same as High street prices over here. In fact I reckon it`s more expensive over there - most were £20 or there abouts.
