Page 1 of What is the best sequel?

What movie kills its prequel by miles? I dont mean a little bit better but miles better. Return of the jedi and the good the bad and the ugly spring to mind anything else?

Aliens was eminently more entertaining than Alien. Cameron`s effort was much more exciting and enjoyable than the passable, but dull in places original. Blade 2 "BloodLust" sounds like it may follow this pattern aswell. The worst sequel is (and always will be) Highlander 2 "The Quickening", which is a nonsensical abomination from start to finish.

Godfather Part One is much better than the sequel.

Also Terminator is better than T2.

TOY STORY 2 - More please!

STAR TREK ll - The Wrath of Kahn.- l think Star Trek over all is crap, but this film is a great "submarine mouse hunt" movie.

INDIANA JONES & THE LAST CRUSADE much better than Temple of Doom, but not RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (My best film of all time!)
Yeah, you can argue Temple of Doom is a prequel.

P.S.

And l believe Good, Bad & the Ugly is not a sequel to the "Dollars" films, but part of the spagetti western trilogy only by having same director! Something l learned last week!

there is a `renegade` aka director`s cut version with some of the
elements of the story removed - ie. planet ziest and all that balloney!

Gah how can all of you miss the ultimate "sequel is better" film of all time?

The Evil Dead 2!

Highlander 2 - Yeah mate, I have that too and it is something of an improvement. Still a massive downer from the first though.
